Forget London, forget Canada and forget Australia… Having taken over the world of Rock courtesy of HIM and The Rasmus, Finland is also where it’s at right now for breakbeat too and new label to watch “Heavy Disco” are there already! Hand picking 4 of the hottest breaks producers to feature on our first release was by no means and easy task but we think we’ve done it with just the right amount of style. The two better known acts featured are slowly becoming household names in breakbeat. The mighty LBJ with a string of releases under his belt including most recently material pressed by seminal London breaks label Botchit & Scarper hits home with ‘Graffiti Techno’ – “razor sharp beats, making for a breakbeat connection balls-out killer cut!” (Mole – Boombox).
Holding his own and adding strength to the EP; Infekto, of De La Soul bootleg fame(!), is no stranger to making beats with tracks released by Aquasky’s Passenger label, Hospital and most recently (under his Rico Tubbs pseudonym) Jay Cunning and Terry Hooligan’s Menu Music. ‘Bring It’, is 100% party funk beats and big room basslines.
In addition: We are also proud to present debut tracks by
two hot up and coming Finnish producers, which also we should add come under high recommendation from our two hero heavyweights from Finland already listed.
Takomo with their deep and relentless bass-fuelled account opener ‘Interplanetary Warfare’ is a great tune for the late/early hours hardcore crew, while Munchies teases us with their tongue in cheek beats and pieces track ‘Scientifically Fascinating’ primed for cheeky mix filling!
