Undercover Magazine – July Edition (Issue 14)
(Mole – Boombox)
This is the first release from brand new label Heavy Disco.
Once again we don’t have much info to go with this but
from what we’ve heard so far, it seems that these guys
are definitely onto something fresh. LBJ deliver razor sharp
beats with some nice effects thrown around in the mix, making
for a Breakbeat Connection balls out killer cut! Look out
for forthcoming artists such as, Spectrum Breaks, Subtropic
+ 10 Sui.

DJ Magazine Office Playlist – July 9 Edition
(Carl Loben)
DJ Magazine – July 23 Edition (Ollywood)
This 4 tracker debut release on Heavy Disco (lots of new labels
starting up at the moment, hopefully a good sign for the world
of vinyl) showcases the Breakbeat talent coming out of Finland
right now. LBJ brings the darkness on my favourite cut from
the EP, it funks and spazzes in all the right places, lots
to keep the brain entertained. Infekto comes with a barmy,
feelgood pogo-jump-athon… that somehow takes me back
specifically to the play-doh sculpting days of my childhood…
bizarre. Takomo’s offering is not as powerfully produced
as the other cuts, it’s a bit simplistic and monotone.
Munchies track is cheeky and playful but also suffers from
under-production. As the Press Release boldly states, “Forget
London, forget Canada and forget Australia… Finland
is where it’s at right now for Breakbeat” I’m
gonna be controversial and say it’s not, but they certainly
know wha’ blo.”

Undercover Magazine – August Edition (Issue
15) (Mr. Ben – Botchit)
*** Single of the Month ***
The debut EP from the Heavy Disco label features four tracks
from as many up and coming producers, all hailing from the
fire and ice capital of the world Finland! The a-side is given
over to Graffiti Techno by leader of the pack Lazy Bones Jones
aka LBJ. Originally pencilled in for release on Botchit &
Scarper, this breakbeat monster has been doing the rounds
on CDR for some time now, and will now run riot and cause
plenty of damage. Meanwhile, on the other side is the cheeky-as-you-like
Infekto with Bring It, a rare original production (in the
last few months they have reworked just about every decent
hip-hop vocal for their evil purposes) with plenty of menace.
Next up, the debut track from my favourite unsigned breakbeaters
Takomo, with dark like backstab sounds of Interplanetary Warfare.
If this is what aliens are packing, we’re fucked, believe!
Rounding things off is the quirky, Star Trek sampling Scientifically
Fascinating by Munchies, who is, no doubt, a blunted boy wonder…
With future releases featuring the likes of The Young Punx,
10 Sui and a full Infekto 12” (we hope), this is going
to be a label to watch. Oh yeah, and them Finnish boys are
about to blow the fuck up!

IDJ Magazine – August Edition (10Sui)
Helsinki Breaks is the first offering from new breakbeat Label
Heavy Disco, featuring some of the finest talent from.. Helsinki!
LBJ has had releases on Botchit and Scarper and now hits his
own brand of steppy breaks, alongside funky lil 80_s bleepy
number ‘Bring It’ There’s something 4 everyone
here as Heavy Disco make their mark as a new label to be reckoned
with. Seriously heavy disco biscuits!

Ann D (Headcharge) – charted #11 “Brilliant piece
of vinyl, top in the box. Reaction is large to both sides”.
Pete Jordan (Spectrum Breaks)
Unusually formed beat that forms something fresh and works
well on the floor. Decent production across all the EP. Nice
one.

“I'm always a little weary of 3 tracks on one side because
I think the quality suffers but as it so happens, there are
3 tunes on this plate I'd be happy to play anywhere - I won't
though cos the flip's the shizzle! (Played on Breaks FM)
Malinna - This is a wicked tune and I've charted it…
Lookin’ forward to your next ones! Thanks
Mike Hogan (Breakspoll/TTR Magazine) – charted #19

The first piece of Heavy Disco vinyl turned up today.... WICKED.
