Up and coming Finnish electronica
duo Takomo were formed in 2002 after the members Otto Hassinen
and Pekka Kokkonen met at a drum'n'bass related chatroom.
Their combined influences can be found in dark minimal tech
funk drum'n'bass such as Ed Rush & Optical (The Virus
Sound), Matrix and Cause 4 Concern, with some influence drawn
also from IDM, jazz and downtempo. Both are avid music collectors
with diverse interests spanning punk to prog rock and hip
hop, all sorts of experimental electronic music and everything
in between - not excluding drum'n'bass and breaks, of course.
Over time their style has developed more in the direction
of breakbeat, alternating between deep and progressive atmospheric
material to dancefloor oriented breaks. Currently they seek
influence in all types of quality electronics.
